A creator at heart, interior decorator Jen Joubert lives in the Stellenbosch winelands with her family and two gorgeous golden retrievers Sally and Sophie.
Conceptualising and producing homeware from her relaxed country space, Jen happily brings her brand of refined yet understated elegance to all she’s inspired to create.
And it’s this inspiration that’s the backbone of her brand’s ethos:
“Everything I do and sell is a reflection of the things I love,” she explains.
"I listen and try to create an environment that reflects the clients personality. My job is to help people visualize who they are. I give them what they want, and what they may not have the time to create themselves."
At the heart of Hill House Interiors are botanicals.
When not designing and printing her own fabric designs and making up scatters, you’ll find Jen working in her treasured garden and it’s her passion for plants that’s evident throughout her range.
From her bespoke scatters and sourced cabbage-ware ceramics, to her striking made-up screen prints on canvas, Jen adorns her pieces with beautiful botanicals that invite the outside in and add a dose of modern country charm to a home.
While plants provide a large injection of her creative fuel, so too do natural, raw materials such as linens which she loves to work with.
An interior decorator by trade, Jen has expanded her offering to not only include scatter cushions and table ware but a comprehensive plant collection too, such as cut roses, Proteas, potted succulents, fresh garden and indoor plants as well as fine quality imported fake plants.
“Gardening feeds my soul,” explains Jen. “And, so it feels only natural that I work with living organic things as well as shapes, patterns and prints.”
